After December, hopefully you “Let go & Let me” and you left all that heavy baggage behind so now you are ready to focus on the future.  A New Year always opens the door for hope and renewal so let’s make this year really count for something.

Here are my top 5 health tips you need to work on in 2026 READ ON…..

Pay attention to the tests I recommend and ask your physician to order them.

  1. Know your numbers. This is so easy… get your blood work done!  Check for blood sugars, cholesterol, nutrients and inflammation at the very least.  You will want a hemoglobin A1C for your blood sugars, a lipid panel, apolipoprotein B (at the minimum) for your cholesterol, B12, D, ferritin for nutrients and a hsCRP for inflammation.  Then understand that “normal” is not optimal so be sure and aim for optimal levels.  If you are told we are going to watch your blood sugar, watch your cholesterol, etc, then get proactive and do something about it!
  2. Focus on your diet. You KNOW this.  Now, just do it.  Remove all the extra and don’t forget to add in more good things like good fats, good veggies and good protein.
  3. Exercise. You also KNOW this.  GET MOVING.  Regularly.  If you cannot be accountable to yourself then grab a buddy, sign up for a class or work with a trainer.
  4. Set Boundaries. The most common reason I hear that a healthy plan gets derailed is life.  We allow everyone else’s issues step in and supersede our healthy habits.  Yes, there are times we have no choice but many times we use the drama as an excuse and next think you know we are tossing our health aside.
  5. Sleep.  Yes, sleep is really that important.  If you don’t sleep you don’t restore.  If you think you have sleep apnea (or your spouse thinks you do) then go get a sleep study and FIX it!  Sleep apnea accelerates aging so addressing this can be one of the most important steps for a healthy life.
